Fitting the Gear Selector mechanism on a 3.0 V6 and it looks like the selector gets very close to the clutch release arm. Is this just tight and there is always clearance or do I need to take a file to the selector arm to ensure clearance?

Apologies was going to add a picture, but as luck would have it battery went flat !!

I seem to remember grinding something to get a clearance there.

Mick came up with what has proved so far to be a good fix to this problem.
What he did was redrill and tap the selector rod to allow the rod to be turned through approximately 90'. The lug on the end of the shaft then clears the clutch release arm.
This works with the Corse linkage. You will have to try and adapt the Hawk linkage I guess.
I've just had a go at editing a picture to put in this post but can't seem to manage it.
If you want to send me an email I'll reply with the pictures attached.

The quick fix is to cut & grind the clutch arm since there is plenty of metal to play with & you may have to trim a little off the hawk selector rod as well.
