I think it is probably Sue Holloways. Hers is/was kept in one at the Rudlers place plus Demon Tweeks have a tie up with Sues ex husband Fred somewhere along the line having had his Lancia 037 and Audi Quattro SWB on display at various times in the past few years. I got to crawl all over Freds' 037 a number of years ago at Aintree on a test day when I was actively persuing the construction of an authentic replica which sadly came to nothing. Cheaper to buy the real thing!

I had often wondered about that, and spoke to Alister Flack, the boss of Airflow, about it Goodwood last year. He didn't know whose car it was, just that it had been one of several cars that were at the storage place where the photo shoot was done.

Maybe the storage place is the Rudlers that Guy mentions.

I know Alastair from Hart Motor Club and see him at some of the car shows. When at Airflow, he told me that they had a deal with Rudlers for selling/using car covers at their storage business. The car is almost certainly Sue's as well, although I don't think she was aware of the picture!

Alastair has now set up his own company, Hamilton Classic, and was at the Autosport show under that name this year. He even sold his TR7V8 rally car to fund this business - so help make it work!

His company has a web site at www.hamiltonclassic.co.uk and offers things such as:

Car Covers - indoor and outdoor, plus temporary garage type
Race and Rally Shelters - easy-up type of things
Power Packs, Electric Wheelnut Wrenches, etc
and other motorsport-related accessories...

about 2 years ago Chris Smith and myself were down getting our exhausts made at Whooton Bassett and the guy who was making them took us down to Ed Rudlers to see a Stratos...this turned out to be in a Carcoon or Airflow Chamber and was an original (not the one in DT catalogue) although it was a red stradale and owned by a Swiss chap i think, who hardly used the car !!!!!.......I was going to say he had more money than sense but then I thought better not cos he might log on to our forum !

By for now

John,

I didn't know that about Alistair. Last time I spoke to him, he was off to do a sprint at Longcross the following week in the TR7.

Over the last couple of year, I've bought car covers, a power pack, wheel gun, etc from him.

Been very satisfied with them all - especially the power pack, which does a jump start, runs 12v accessories, has a built in light, and built-in compressor. We use it quite a bit at rallies.
