Hi,

I'm starting to fit out the interior. Had the dash and pod covered at Christmas and just bought the trimmy bits from Hawk. They look to cover things up well, but I had a few questions..

Most of the hawk moulding are black... the surround for the rear window is white.. Anyone know why this is??

Can anyone point me in the right direction for roof linings.. Spec and supplier. I'm assuming it's simply glued straight onto the roof fibre-glass??

Finally, how have people attached then ,ouldings over the roll bar section.. glue, expanding foam??

Getting ever nearer!

Roof liner is a DIY jobbie if you want it to look right! Get some foam with a material backing cut to the profile of the roof.
Slice the foam through to the material every 2 cm (I think) - enough to give you 22 ribs across the width of the car. Lay a piece of vinyl headling material over the foam and LOOSELY stitch the first five rows from the middle outwards. Then tighten the threads to pull the material into the groove, lightly stitch the next outer rows and tighten the centre ones, repeat until youve got to the edges!
Boring but satisfying when it's done!
Place on the roof, fold one half down and spray with upholstery adhesive and fold into place. Repeat for the other half.

Andrew, what are they exactly, and how much did they cost?

Hi,

Cover to gap between upper front roll bar and the windscreen.

Rear window surround.. down to harness eyes.

covers to roll bar that runs along the line of the upper edge of the side window... this also drops down at the rear edge to meet up with the side trim moulding supplied with the original car (or it will when I add a couple of inches)

covers to the roll bars that run down the side of the windscreen and will meet up with the dash.

They will need some fettling, but will tidy all of this up and be much better than I could have made.

The cost.. You'll not get much change out of £350 delivered. Not cheap, but I'm hoping to get my car on the road this summer.
