I find this forum so helpfull and interesting that I wonder if there is any possibility to download all threads and replies by pushing "one button" in order to study offline without costs. It is true that internet-charges have dropped a lot, but still this would be much better. Even better at the second time by just "updating" the "news".

Any idea? If not we should make an invention...

Have fun, Andreas

Andreas,

I haven't figured out how to download all threads at once, but it looks like you can download a single thread and all replies in a couple of ways:

With the thread open, go to the Windows menu at the top of the page, and select "File-Save as..." It should open a window where you can pick your destination folder, and specify how you would like it saved. My computer gives me the option of saving as a complete web Page, an HTML only web page, a Web Archive, or a text file.

Once you save it, you can open an HTML file or text file using Microsoft Word, or any similar word processor. Unfortunately, attached photos don't seem to go along for the ride.

The other opiton is to select "File-print". It will print the entire thread, including pictures, if you want a hard copy to read the old-fashioned way.

I tried both of these here in the office, and got good results.

What I do normaly is go to "show printable version" and then "all treads on one page" and then "save as".

I my case as well the pictures are not included. Opening normaly as if it was internet by the IE.

But thatīs is not what we are looking for, right?

Andreas,

I'll look into it for you.

There might be a way of exporting it all and creating a searchable PDF. If I can do that, maybe I'll do that on a frequest basis and leave the PDF on the website so that it can be downloaded.

An annual cd omnibus edition? It might be worth paying for.

Andreas,

Thomas Giesinger has doen some work on this, and has sent me an example. I've been very busy this last week or two, and haven't yet had time to look at it.

I will try and get time to sort it out over the next few days.

Any news for this? Is it possible to get all in one shot?

The CD with the newsletter-issues 1-61 is GREAT, many thanks.

I have created an archive of this Forum. It is available for download at www.geocities.com/stratosforumarchive/index.html.

Please have a look and let me know what you think.

Hi Thomas

this is great and getting even better. Many thanks.

Everybody who has not tried it yet should do so. The whole forum on harddisk is what I was looking for.

Many thanks again.

Regards, Andreas

There is supposed to be an archive producing facility in Version 3 of VBulletin, and this is currently going through final testing before release.

I hope to upgrade the forum, once this is properly released.

Hi all!

The archive has been updated and is available for download at the address mentioned above.

David, why don't you copy the files onto the stratossupersite server for easier and unlimited access?

The archive could also be included on the club CD.

I have again updated the archive at www.geocities.com/stratosforumarchive/index.html.

Who is actually using it? If it's only 1 or 2 guys, I could send the updates by email.
