If anyone is interested, I know of someone who is selling Xenon HID lamp kits, which can be used as a straight replacement for H4 headlamp bulbs. Kit includes the starter/resistor needed for the conversion.

Any interest in these for the Stratos (X1/9 headlamp fittings, for instance)?

Point is, a group buy could result in a discount of maybe 25% from this supplier, but no point approaching about this unless there is any demand.

Wouldn't need the club to buy them either, so no hassle there; seller would be able to sell to individuals with a quoted discount.

I'd be interested John, if you can provide any details about the cost of such a kit, it would be helpful.

Thanks

I need one ballast unit, if he sells them individually...

Well, just checked with the supplier, who has sold a whole bunch of kits to Mitsi Evo guys, and he can do an H4 kit for a sale price of £135 plus delivery (£9.95 in the UK, I think). Normal price is £179.99, so this does seem to be a good discount.

Chris - in answer to your question:
With regards to the ballast yes we have those too they are £50 each if its for an aftermarket retrofit HID kit.

Cheers all,

OK, Andi at XenonShop UK has got back to me - easiest answer is for me to post links here so you can contact him as you wish.

His shop is at http://www.xenonshop.co.uk/ and price quoted above is for H4 kits.

For a description of the offer made on the MLR site, see http://www.lancerregister.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=144934

This also shows the different colour/intensities available, with recommendations for the 6000K range to get the best light output.

Oh, to get the discounted price when ordering from XenonShop, mention Lancer Register.
Wouldn't hurt to also mention Rut-the-Nut at the same time too (nothing in it for me, just hoped that some Strat owners might want some brighter lights).

The higher the K value, the bluer and less intense the light. From memory, 4300K gives most light. Highest numbers are verging on purple.

That's right Chris. The higher numbers give off more blue/purple and aren't so bright overall. May also be a problem with some mot test centres.

Pictures on the web site show the different colours/light levels.
