CarGlass Windscreens
Finally removed my windscreen - after two appointments that they failed to turn up for. After removal, it was agreed that I would clean up the screen and the apeture so that the screen could be re-fitted. All it would take was a phone call to them to ask them to return and complete the refitting.
Unfortunately, they no longer seem to answer thier office number, either of the two mobile numbers or respond to emails.
Gave up and now have the headache of moving the car without a screen to a reputable company in Chertsey.

Matt, You could tape it in for that short trip? I'm serious.
I'd like to see a second opinion before you try it though.

The people who are now going to do it are called Old School Widndscreens and they are currently working on various Astons and Ferraris, the boss there is giving me some foam for the glass to sit on when laid into the apeture and then secured in with duct tape.
Am obviously nervous, but its only 4 miles from me and I will be taking it very very gently indeed.

You should be okay- they used to supply the glass rear screen to Transformer and Rob (the prop) built a very nice Beta engined HF2000.

Yep - had a good chat with Rob reguarding the build of his HF2000 a number of years ago, apparently it was one of the first two built.
So I think I'm in good hands this time!

Matt
In the magazine article of Geoff Turton's green car (as seen in Transformer brochures along with an original red Stradale) the windscreen is taped in. I'm sure your's will be fine, I know that's easy for me to say when it's not my windscreen!

We ship our replica cars all over the World with screens taped in place and we have never had one break or even get damaged....you should be fine.

We made it without issue with the windscreen taped in with foam protector and duct tape.
It was hard fighting back the urge to give her a blast.
Screen is now in and I decided to have the screen polished to remove some light wiper scratches.
