Hi, my first posting here. I have an unusual question that someone may be able to help with. I have a set of Dino wheels (108 pcd, 5 stud - 2 from a 246GT, 2 from a 308 GT4) and I'd like to fit them to suspension sourced from a Mazda MX5 (Miata). The reason is that I'm building a replica from scratch - not a Stratos but a close cousin - the Fiat Dino Spider. I already have a fibreglass body shell and a 2 litre Dino engine. It'll be front engine, rear wheel drive . I guess someone here has already had experience converting to the original Stratos/Ferrari/Fiat Dino 108 pcd and may be able to help.
Cheers :)

Thanks Syndicate, I've emailed SRBPOWER but my understanding is that 4 stud x 100 just doesn't go into 5x108 - the geometry is wrong unless you go to an intermediate size first . For example 100x4 to 108x4 to 108x5! Who wants that amount of potential trouble on each corner and the resulting minimum 34mm extra track each side too. Are there any 108x5 hubs or custom hubs I could use instead?

Try Compbrake for custom Hubs (google it!)

You know, the Alfa 166 uses 108x5 hubs. 108 PCD is fairly common. Possibly you can find some hubs and customize the mounting points. It sounds like a bit of research is required.

Here's a 4x98mm pcd to 5x108mm pcd conversion (but only using one of the 4x98mm):

The downside is as you've mentioned, the increase in track, but it really needn't be more than 15mm per wheel. You might be able to get away with less than 15mm, but it depends how the fixing studs are fastened into the flange/hub. They could be located from the back of the flange with a shoulder on the stud (like old Minis and probably lots of other cars?). Lots of modern factory produced car's wheel hub/flanges are not particularly thick. I understand the rule when threading studs into a material is that the minimum should be at least the width of the stud itself? I'm not an engineer though, so don't take my word for it!

Well, I didn't know that?!, maybe it's becoming a more common fitting, but it used to only be Ferraris, Volvos and a couple of large and not very common Peugeots and Citroens?
I just assumed 166s would be the same as other 5 stud Alfas, but it isn't the case.
