As part of a full refurb of my car (1988 HF 2000) to Alfa V6 power and brakes, I've bought a set of 8" x 15" Campag replical wheels from Gerry. I'm aware of the Michelin TB range but would appreciate any help as to other options for this set up before I make a final choice.

Thanks in anticipation,

Ian

The car will be mainly for road use and the odd track day.

I'm using Kumho V70A 225/45/15 rear medium compound, was going to use 205/50 soft on the front, but I've now found a source of nearly new Dunlop CR311, so I'm getting 205/585s. They can be cut to inters and wets, so are versatile.

Toyo R888s unless you are driving on wet, bumpy lanes

John,

Thanks for the suggestion.

Looking at the sizes available I was pondering 225/50 rears and 205/50 fronts. Will those fit the rims since all are 15" * 8"?

Cheers,

Ian

225.50.15 will certainly fit the 8 inch wheel, it's what I run on the front of the car. (Pirellis)

I've got 205/50 on 8" rims on the front. No problems.

Hi Rossi, I have been running 16" Goodyear F1 225/45 rears and 205/50 on the front of my Corse. My Wheels are 7x16front and 7.5x16 rears.

I would realy like to upgrade to a 9" or 10" rear, but Compomotive MO only go up to 8" and a 225 is the widest 16" tyre i can find.

The other option would be getting a set of the 17" wheels that Mick W uses, but that requires more beer tokens than i have right now. I am not sure if I really want to move to 17's tbh - this is not a modified hot hatch.:D

The tyres have been fantastic on road and track and are great in the wet too.

Cheers

Tim

Guy,

Thanks for that re 225's. My concern would be that the 8" rim would be too wide for the 205's.
