I just found this site recently while looking for some sizes/angles for the roof spoiler on a Lancia Stratos, as well as looking for a place to get the spoiler, can somone please give me the length/width of the spoiler, what the angle that it goes down the side of the car at and the length down the side? Sorry but I plan on putting one on a different car and Im currently praying that everything is close enough, also if anyone knows where I can get one at it would be appreciated. Ive loved the Stratos for quite awhile but its almost impossible to get one in the U.S.A.

I can get the dimensions you asked for off of my car. It'll be sometime this evening when I get home from work. The roof of the Stratos is relatively narrow - not sure the spoiler will fit anything else directly. What were you planning to install the spoiler on?

As far as where to get one, either Hawk cars or Napiersport should be able to supply one. The Dollar/Pound exchange rate at the moment isn't in our favor, so between that and the shipping, it's liable to be pricey.

thanks, Im planning to put one on my 84 Pontiac Fiero, I know thats kind of an insult to the spoiler given that it is supposed to go on a much nicer car but I think it would look pretty good, and price isnt that much of an issue, so long as it doesnt cost more than I spent on the car itself...

also if you could get the height it would be appreciated :}, but that isnt as important as the others

A Fiero, eh? I'm almost certain it won't fit - the roof on a Fiero is a lot wider than a Stratos. Still, here are the dimensions you asked for:

The 36" dimension is center to center on the mounting pads. All other dimensions are measured either horizontally or vertically from the corners of the inside surfaces of the spoiler, or to a plane defined by the lower ends of the spoiler. There is about 12 degrees of forward rake when viewed from the side.

The distance that the spoiler would sit above the roof is about 2". My spoiler has about 3/4" of curvature in it - that is, the middle is 3/4" higher than the height at the corners, as measured on the drawing.

The current price of the roof spoler on Hawk Cars' website is 242 Pounds Sterling - about $470 at the current exchange rate. It's light, but big enough that it'll be charged by volume for shipping. Figure something in the range of $150 for the postage. That's based on a shipping quote I got earlier this year for a Lancia Montecarlo noseband - similar size and weight.

So, figure somewhere north of $600 for a part that is going to require some serious modification to make fit. At the very least, you'll probably need to add a section in the middle, re-contour the bottom of the mounting pads to fit your roof, and probably have to fiddle with the ends to follow the Fiero's tumblehome. It might make for a good starting point, but at that price, you may be better off making one from scratch.

I see, well, thank you for the information and suggestions

Edit: I just measured it and theres a 1 foot difference, the car is too wide for it and I do not know how to fabricate one from scratch so it looks like Im going to be on Ebay for awhile lol

The other thing is that the Stratos spoiler is designed to direct airflow down over the louvres and onto the the rear spoiler, so is shape as a right-way-up aerofoil, which will provide lift, not downforce. Although I suspect your aim is more cosmetic than aerodynamic?

though I hate to say it, it was, but if you put it that way it most likely would have worked aerodynamically as well

I would think an aero modeler would be able to make one for your own car out of rigid foam or balsa wood, you then use resin and glass fibre to make a mould.
Material wise the cost would be less than $100 I would think
