Spotted in the usual place - it needs to be removed carefully from the hubcap and have some studs attached before fitting but it's the real McCoy!

Are there any plastic areas large enough to drill a small hole in? You could then fit a slightly smaller dia stud with a teeny bit of araldite or some type of liquid adhesive.

John, It appears to be made of the kind of metal used on Dinky cars etc... dia..what ever it's called but chromed. There is however 2 areas that's are little more substantial that were used to rivet the thing to the frizby so I might focus on them!!!

Hi Allen, I think the material they are made from is known as a mazak casting or soemthing like that. It's not the greatest material!
I made one years ago from a new hubcap like yours. After drilling off the rivets to remove the badge I just araldited some stainless countersunk socket head bolts to the back and then bolted it on, obviously countersing the nose panel so it sits flat. The bolt to badge joint isn't stressed so it stayed glued no problems.
Whilst you are at this stage it's worth considering opening a hole in the nose panel beneath the badge in case you ever decide that a lamp pod might be needed later?

I now feel a little guilty, having vandalised what possibly is a rare piece of kit. Does anyone know another source for the nose badge and the going rate? Does anyone know if these hub caps are available else where?

They appear on ebay quite often. Not bothering myself so i haven't bid.

Omicron sells a reproduction nose badge for the Stratos - that's where I got mine. I think I paid 29 Pounds for it at the time... but that was 5 years ago, and I may be thinking of the price of their front side indicator light instead. Best to contact them for current pricing.

The more I think about it, I'm not at all sure about that price. I'll have a look through my reciepts and see if I can find what I paid, but I know it was a bit more than that Fulvia hubcap on E-bay.

The reason why I'm interested is that I've been contacted via ebay asking if the item is for sale as the person needs one for his Berlina and can't find one. I feel a little rotten vandalising it and would accept a rep job as an alternative.

Found my receipts from Omicron. Their nose badge listed for 39 Pounds in 2001. At the time, the side indicators were 27 Pounds - closer to the number I had in my head...
