It's an object of wonder and desire, Chris. It's close enough to me to wonder whether I desire it enough to bid for it.

With reference to the seller's description, my understanding was that Alfa were quite the opposite to "wildly optimistic" about the engine's power, and tended to quote rather conservatively.

I do have that right don't I?

wtf is a stater motor?
There are no alternator/power steering/aircon pumps mounted in the picture - the ancillary belt is missing.
I don't think Alfa ever claimed 240bhp for the 24v, I think it was 230 in QV form - i.e. with the large inlet runners. 210 for the standard 24v.
