This is a must have for any Stratos replica owner.
It's probably the article where most people first heard about the fact that there were two Stratos replica kits on the market.
Includes colour photos (by Roger Perry) of Roger Perry's original Stratos (that the first Transformer moulds were taken from) and the early Allora and Transformer demonstrators.
There's also my favorite Stratos photo of Christian Mineff's red Group 4 Lancia Stratos parked up on the Great Orme, Llandudno.

Not seen that one before so I have had a bid at it. Hope nobody's going to tread on my toes! Will of course be willing to photocopy or lend it out if I get it.

Chris,
It is already scanned as is, but hasn't been used. There is a question of copyright?
The text from the article has already been in one issue of the newsletter.

I think the conclusion was, The Allora had a crap interior, weird steering(something to do with excessive scrub radius) and the transformer had no self centering on its steering and an engine installation problem which caused a severe vibration (beta subframe version). I think this was the time when both kits had just been anounced so would definitely have had glitches.
That group 4 car of Chris mineefs certainly looks the part though. I think its the same one as on the cover of stratos 72-85.

Yes John, I think it is the same car. With a Stradale in the background too IIRC.
I also think I'm right in saying these cars used to reside in Cheshire not too far from here. Wonder where they are now.

Is it Mineef? they've got it written as 'Mineff' in the article more than once. I think they've got the spelling wrong? It is a great photo though?, I couldn't stop looking at it, at the time.
There's also a photo of FYF 821V in this CCC issue. The car that belongs to Chris Wilson. It's a red Stradale, but back then it had Marlborough livery on the front.

John,
I think Mr mineef lived at Holmes Chapel.

Yes John, it was Holmes Chapel or near there. I remember my old navigator, Bob, coming to the pub one night saying he had seen two stratos parked outside a house near Swettenham ford (well known to all north west road rally participants. We even went out there for a special look but they were not outside and never had the courage to go and knock on the door to ask for a look.

I have a video of Chris competing in his Strat at Doune hillclimb taken in the mid 80's, would post it on google but still unable to convert VHS to digital. Anyone know a good set up to buy for not silly money that will allow me to do that?
