Eurospares (as well as the usual Ferrari parts) have a Thema 8.32 gearbox listed for £700.
Won't that have a limited slip diff.?, and would it fit an Alfa V6 gearbox?

The Thema uses a front engine and a completely different gearbox.

Tryphon,
I'm talking about possible parts for Corse and Hawk's running Alfa 164 engines here. They're front engined too.

Hmmm.
I don't know tbh. Ferrari V8 gearbox - Alfa V6....Hmmm
£700 is a fair chunk for a gearbox if it does not fit.

I think the actual box casing will be the same as thema/alfa/croma/dedra. Ratios probably different and also the bellhousing. You thinking diff's?

It's what I've been led to believe (and backed up by John here), the same family of gearboxes as the other Themas and Alfa V6. The mounting bolt pattern might well be different so you might have to swap the diffs from one box to the other. 'Like you say though, £700 is an awful lot for an unknown secondhand diff.!?
Actually, Eurospares also have the 8.32 engine that was this gearbox belongs to for £1800? (less than 2k anyhow). If you like a challenge? I know 2 or 3 of these have been successfully fitted. Strange noise for a Stratos?!, a nice noise though?

You can get a Gripper plate type limited diff for £650 or so - fits straight in, no mods.
Cheers, Chris

In that case, it is too much. I don't know about these things, being Honda powered, or should that be Honda standing still for the last 16 years?!

The Thema V8 uses a split plane crank, American style, much more civilized and less evil sounding.
The original Ferrari V8s use a flat plane crank, this one sounds like a Ferrari.
