I want to remove the redundant power steering pump from my engine, but since it's the end pulley that the poly-V belt goes round, I'm not sure how to reconfigure the belt. ?leave the pump on as apulley, ?fabricate a mounting for a blind pulley - any suggestions? I know there are a few 24v cars out there, how have they approached it? All help gratefully received.

I threw out the power-steering and a/c pumps and the tensioners, and moved the alternator down low to the front, on a fabricated engine mounting. I use a 938mm 5-row poly-V belt and adjust the tension by moving the alternator.

There is actually an Alfa part do do this for you, but I don't know the part number.
It is a dummy pulley which replaces the aircon pump. I currently have one fitted to my Alfa 164 24v.
