I have a nice set of Veglia instruments in the car, but my fuel gauge does not work. I am having real trouble finding a supplier of the gauges to try and help me track down a new gauge to match. Can anyone help?

Keep an eye on eBay, they come up from time to time - usually USA

I've still got a fuel guage. See this thread:

It's £12 as seen. I have'nt tested it and I can't give 100% guarantee that it would work.

Or here's another option:

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately the gauges I have in the car have a slate-grey face with white markings and the fuel gauge reads vertically. I shall try to get a photo of it. Is it an option to contact Veglia direct? I can't seem to get any info. I can't even see a part number on the gauge.

Another question. Last night I managed to fudge an old smiths gauge and replace the face and the bezel with the Veglia. It now reads, but it just goes directly off the scale and reads full. Why is this? I'm sure the sender wires are not shorted out, but do I need a resistor in line or something?

???.......

Some gauges will read maximum when the sender wire is earthed somewhere along it's length. Do a continuity test of the wire itself and a resistance test between the gauge end of the wire and earth (this should read high on your multi meter)
I'm no expert by the way....

I see what you mean. 'Veglia' automatically makes me think 124/Fiat Dino 850 Spider etc.
