View Full Version : Advice on Seats Needed

Can anyone recommend the optimum seats for my Strat? The ones I currently have are too tight and much too uncomfortable so they need to be changed. I know this will largely be a matter of personal choice, but any advice would be most welcome. My main considerations are ease of access (I was going to try and avoid the high sided ones), comfort, weight and then price.
I would just like to buy the right thing, as opposed to mail ordering and then being dissapointed.

I know they are really expensive (don't know how much offhand), but I find the Hawk replica stradale seats exceptionally comfortable, supportive despite their not particularly high-sidedness and easy to get into.
Picture is of the drivers seat in my car from two pics stitched together by Chris J in an earlier thread here (http://www.stratossupersite.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=1334&stc=1)

thanks - they look very smart indeed. I'm also quite tall at 6'3'', so the fact that they look slim and low would also be helpful. I will take a deep breath and get a price.

6'3" hmmm. My seats are on runners but judging by how close they are to the carpet, I'd judge that they could not really go much lower. I think you may struggle as I'm 5'10" and I doubt I could wear a crash helmet although others bigger than me seem to manage OK.
Chris J might know whether the floor is in the normal place or has been repositioned. You there Chris? How big are you (you know what I mean)?

I bought Guy's replica seats, very good quality, but also very narrow ( for me that is ;) ) I just fit in but suppose they bwill set themselves once used more often. To Fit them in the Hawk i will have to change the mounting studs thouhg, i'm also over 6 feet and my hair is touching the roof. Look at my site to see pictures of the seat in the car ( build rreport, joli 2006 ).
