Well I have had a complete about face on this project and need advice. As this is not an original Grp 4 car but a stradale being converted, I am thinking of doing some thing different and having it built to track spec using the track spec bodywork. This would also enable me to use this configuration on road based rallies (which seem to be the majority of events that arebeing organized for historics). What is your opinion of this strategy and direction?

I think that if you have an original street car, you should restore it and leave it original..

But the Strato's is a unique car for its history, so in my opinion you are free to prepare it, by the specs of the group4, using group4 parts or replicas of them...

we have an original group 4 in rebuilding, almost ready to race in historic competitions here in italy.. the engine sounds good and brakes and suspensions are pretty ready...

also if you need some parts, like racing pistons and valves, contact me by mail ;-)

Hey Renato,
Saw the pictures of youre car, wat an awesome find :) Is youre car an original factory raced car ? I see it has still a stradale dashboard, are you going to build in a Group 4 dash?

Good luck building and please post some pictures on youre progress here, Thanks

it was an official jolly club car... it was used in races on mountain.. rallies on street I think... I think that we'll leave it as it is, we only removed the 4 big headlights, cause we installed the lightweight lester front and rear hoods and because we'll use it in the morning races, so we don't need an aerodynamic brake and a nosense weight on the front..
