I'm losing the use of my late dad's garage so need to clear out. To be collected soonest from Southampton - regret cannot help with delivery as my Mondeo is about to go to the scrap yard. Can however help with lifting onto your trailer or into the back of a hatch as I have an engine crane.
Engine number 1:
The engine originally fitted into my car and has done about 11000 miles from an expensive Oselli rebuild in the early nineties. It blew a head gasket just over a year ago - significant corrosion on gasket spreading from waterways. The head is off the engine but is complete. It has two Kent FT10 cams still in place - not regrinds but machined from billet so easy to shim up. No valve (standard size) damage. Valve seat angles properly cut and flowed/ported to match an externally polished Guy Croft inlet manifold for twin 40 or 45 carbs. It will certainly have been skimmed during the rebuild. Don't know if it is at its limit. Plug threads numbers three and/or four (can't remember) not too good. Carbon fibre cam belt cover. Polished cam covers with quick release Monza oil filler cap.
The block is bored oversize and has some water marks in some bores and a small amount of scoring in number two (caused I presume by the bits of head gasket that blew out between the bores). Pistons are flat top oversize - condition of sides and rings unknown. Crankshaft was reground and fitted with new shells (Vandervell I think) at time of rebuild. Crank also balanced (possibly lightened) with the lightened flywheel. Uprated oil pump and clutch. Undented sump, IIRC.
Some ancillaries. I think the best thing for this engine is to remove the performance parts to a newly bored block if the need arises - to which end I have...
Engine number 2:
Originally bought for serious money last summer to act as a temporary replacement for the above but in fact turned out to be a pile of crap. Head is on but part of the casting around the bolt that secures the top engine steady has cracked. Head itself is fine but the steady cannot be secured properly. The water pump bearings had also failed so I did not want use this engine "as was". Will however yield a decent block (maybe for reboring and use with engine above), crank, rods and possibly pistons. Various ancillaries and other bits on the engine.
Various bits:
Too numerous to list. I want to keep a starter motor and alternator.
I'm under no illusions about the value of all this stuff - virtually zero so I'll let it go for the value of the cams. I do need to move it all on quickly so after about a week or so here, I'll start to eBay it and chuck the rest. Seems a pity but I can not store it at home as I need the space for my Alfa engine and bits. I'd sooner this all went in one go but will listen to offers for bits if there's no interest in the whole lot.
PM me for contact phone number and e-mail address.
