Strato's in Oxfordshire

Hello all, long time no see type of thing.....

On my way home from picking my daughter up from nursary I saw an Alitlia Strat in Witney (Oxfordshire). Does anyone know who's it is? It reminded me I've got one in the garage I need to finish building :o

Funny thing happened on the way home on Sunday.....

Blew a water pipe off at Cherwell Valley, took an hour to fix it but missed the GP traffic. Went on to the Auto Italia Day at Stanford Hall and met up with Dave Clark (longest ongoing build?) and JP from the Evo Forum.

And on the way home passed Nico's pantechnicon on the M6!

Well isnt it a small world,just about the same time as Andrew is posting on here the person in question turns up at my place of work and asks "Is there somebody that works here that is building one of these?", pointong to his Alitalia Strat.
Ofcourse I immediately recognised the car from various shows etc and ask him how he found me.
It turns out that a work collegue of mine has a brother in law that works with Ian and they had been chatting about Italian cars and the link was made.
After a brief chat about Andrew's car and various mutual friends, Chris,Jane etc we agreed to meet up as soon as Ian was back from Le-Mans.
When I got home I phoned Andrew to tell him about my surprise visit and he said that he had posted on the forum and now all made sense.
Looks like the build will be resuming with a vengeance once Ian takes Andrew for a spin and I will have a lot more paintwork to do.........
especially as I am aiming to finish the Ferrari resto before the Strat is finished,a tall order but with all those dark winter nights just around the corner!! :(

Just got back from Le Mans... very tired...

I was at Abingdon, and I bought my daughter but at thirteen months old I was finding it hard to get her to understand why the Strato's is such a great car. I'm sure she'll learn over the next few years. I don't think it's brain washing, rather me passing on my knowledge :p We couldn't stay too long but I watched you guys on the Bentley course and it was great to see such a good turn out of Strat's, well done to you all.
