Is there any real advantage to having drilled and grooved brake discs (OMP/EBC/Brembo etc) or will standard replacement type do just as well?

Seen quite a lot of info that says there isn't a big advantage for drilled discs. a few grooves to clear gasses perhaps. On the other hand holes and grooves tend to go along with cracking. You becoming a fashion victim Chris? :D

My 2p worth, spend the money on good quality pads instead.

Grooves can prevent pad glazing.
