Dear everybody
Can anyone help, especially owners converted to five bolt pattern, I am in process of modifying my Allora front lack of supension, so far I have cut it all off and redesigned it in a sort of Corse style (coarse?). Ihave some Fiat Dino stub axles thanks to Chris Smith, but my hubs(124?) are toosmall for them, Ineed some four bolt hubs to take a stub axle with an inner bearing shaft 1.25 inches diameter,Chris fitted the five stud Dino hubs onto his 132stub axles.I believe therefore that I need some 132 hubs or similar? Can anyone confirm this and or help?

P.S. Cannot believe I have driven 10,000+miles with my bump and droop on upside down,so much for my driving awareness!

Can you explain what you mean by this Andrew. I am also redoing the front suspension of my Allora to increase the travel and get a better set up.

Inverted shocks won't affect bump/droop settings, although they may not operate as they should (the damper rod is either being compressed or extended, but the damper oil may be ineffective if mounted upside down).
Or were you referring to castor settings, which I think was an issue on DW's older car with incorrect upper wishbone installation?

So, as I understand it, you're wanting to fit Fiat Dino hubs onto Fiat 124 stub axles?
This IS possible. All you need to do is fit the 124 size inner wheel bearing to the Dino hub. It's dead easy. I've just converted the front of my Hawk to 5 stud (98mm) using one Fiat Dino and one 308 front hub (same part no.).

Fiat 124 and 132 front hubs are the same part/casting. They're just fitted with different bearings to suit each stub diameter.

No, I'm wrong there are'nt I?
You're fitting 124 hubs onto 132/Dino stubs. You don't need 132 hubs because the 124 hubs that you already have are actually the same as 132 hubs. Just change to 132/Fiat Dino wheel bearings. Job done!

If only every solution was that simple...

No you don't, just fit 132 bearings to the hubs you've got.
There, a short answer.

Sorry for confusion, on my Allora I had 1.5 inches of bump! and 4.5 inches of droop, ideal figures if they were reversed(with 200lb/in springs), hence my "joke" about bump and droop being upside down, and hence the banging from my front suspension.
I want to use stub axles with an inner bearing diameter of 1.25inches (outer bearing 0.75 inches) they are from a Fiat Dino, and yes I believe 132 hubs and bearings will fit. I cannot be definate where my old hubs/stub axles come from, they look like the 124 ones in my Haynes manual, but the inner bearing shaft is only 1.0 inches diameter hence the inner bearing on the hub is only 2.24?inches/56.93 mm.I have been assured by my local bearing shop, and they have always proved very reliable, that no hub bearing is listed to fit, I am confident that 132 hubs have a bigger inner bearing than my old hubs. Can anyone help me please?
Hope that clears up any confusion, any Allora owners want to know what I have done please PM me with a phone number, I hate computers and typing!
Steve/susit I am sending you a PM.

Regarding th 124 hubs: I was taking as read the statement ("If I remember rightly, the hubs are the same") from Dave Watson in this thread:
http://www.stratossupersite.com/forum/showthread.php?t=641&highlight=hubs+stub
It turns out after checking both types that although the 124 hubs have the same casting and both use the same smaller/outer bearing, the larger inner bearing on the 124 is 57mm O/D and the 132 is 59mm.
Andrew, 'Best get these hubs from John H. if Chris R. hasn't got any.
