I keep hitting mine because the steering wheel hides the 6000 - 7500 sector of my tacho. I've got my instruments in the place that the Hawk manual has them for a right hand drive binnacle - speedo on the left, tacho on the right. I looked in the Robson book and they're in the same order in a Stradale (LHD). Should they not be mirror imaged for position? Anybody else suffering the same lack of vision? Rotate the dial through 45 degrees? (is that possible or do they clash?) Should I swap positions? Should I just look where I'm going? Thank goodness for rev limiters!

How about getting an Allegro Quartoptic steering wheel, that might give a clearer view ;)

Alternatively use a shift light. I have a small LED one situated in the gap between and above the Rev counter and speedo, which is set at 500 rpm below the rev limiter. It is bright enough to be visable in peripheral vision, so no need to take your eye off the road/track.

I'm usually too frightened to take my eyes off the road to look at the rev-counter by the time it getting up to those revs.

I've got a shift light too - never see the d*mn thing, never mind the rev counter.

Only time I look at instruments is on the long straights, and it's not really much use there.

I think I need a wire plugged into the back of my neck that feeds the instrument settings direct to my brain.
