Anybody else think that the Koenisigsigsig CXX looked a bit Stratos-esque from some angles?
And it went through the tyres a bit like roger Donnan too!

Yes, especially windscreen, side windows & shape of the door, pretty quick as well. Liked the central wiper position..

Now then. Surely, 5the question has to be - what would a Stratos be like with 800+ BHP?
Answers on a postcard.....

Here's the postcard! The performance (and build quality) of the early prototype reminded me too much of my turbo Stratos. That centrifugal blower comes in like a hammer just when you're not expecting it and usually when you don't want it! Drop the revs slightly and its all gone again.
It sounds like loads of fun but is just frustrating...

I didnt go THROUGH the tyres, I gracefully spun in to them hitting them with both the front and the back of the car. It's hard to say which end hit first. Although judging by the extent of the damage the front must have hit first.
However it's amazing what you can do with a £10 halfords GRP repair kit and a tin of filler - the way things are going it will even be painted for Donington!!

Heard rumours that the Koenigsigisigi thing has a screw blower in place of the twin rotrex units.

The prototype K...!?! used what is basically the compressor half of a turbo driven through a gearset from a chunky great belt. Absolutely no boost below 4000 rpm then it comes in exponentially...
I don't know if they've gone for a conventional Rootes-type blower now (since Ford put one on the GT.)

There were twin rotrex centrifugal superchargers fitted initially which would have produced the boost pattern suggested by David. I think these were junked in favour of a lysholm type screw blower. Not sure which make it is though. The screw blower would give full whack at about 2000rpm and continue efficiently right up to the redline.
