Returned from holiday in Japan last week (great place to visit BTW).

Saw these mirrors, usually seen in black, that are fitted to the wings of all taxis. About 250mm high and huge glass sure to give you a clear view of the road from your Stratos driving seat, look to be SVA-friendly.

On the other hand about as aerodynamic as a brick and just plain ugly.

Didn't see many Lancias on the road though - only one immaculate Delta Integrale Evo in Kyoto but also an Alfa RZ - a first for me - in Tokyo.

I think the crucial term here is, as you point out Chris, where you place the mirrors. It doesnt matter how big the glass is if the mirror is sited wrongly. When I went through the SVA last year, the examiner said that, ideally, I could have done with bigger glass but where the mirrors were sited, they passed all the visibility requirements so no problem. :)

Hmmm...

This was a tongue-in-cheek comment. Wasn't really suggesting that you use one or more of them on your car for SVA!
