There is often a variant of these mirrors with exactly the same bases but rectangular mirror heads listed on ebay from a seller in Cyprus.
I have got a fourth mirror like the third mirror (with the chrome stem). It is very second hand. I drilled a hole in the top to see if the top ball socket is able to be dismantled....It isn't.

It is possible to separate these parts. So left/right hand mirror heads can be fitted to the 'ambidextrous' base and arm components.
Tried to get new arms made up as that is the part that gets broken, but no joy :(
May also find that the mirror won't be such a tight fit when replaced onto the ball joint.

John
You mean you actually got the ball out of the sealed/fixed socket on the pod/mirror head?
After I looked inside the one I drilled the hole in (non of these three!!) I decided I would ruin it if I tried to pull it apart.

Hi John mine broke at the bottom where the square is, I cut the stem down drilled it, made a new square end round stem pinned it & locktighted it, then fitted the rubber sleeve over it again,to hide it, I think they sometimes break when they get knocked ( people leaning over looking through the screen, mine happened in the car park at Le Mans bloke denied it then legged it! made it awkward on the way home) Ithink this happens because the ball joint dries out & goes solid.Regards Mark.

Mark, one of my mirrors got broken off when the car was on a trailer - probably got used as a handhold for someone climbing up to nose in the car. Didn't even leave the broken part behind :(
Rowland gave me a mirror that had a previously-repaired stem on it, and I have another that has been repaired in a similar way. Not ideal, but makes them resuable if you have the parts.
Only got a mirror apart when trying to go for a full repair. Wouldn't want to try it on a fully-fit example as it probably wouldn't end up in the same condition!

Another of the type with similar left hand head, but not the same stem as a 127 Sport:
