hi guys,i have been told that a spedo gearbox drive out of a beta (cable type) will fit the alfa 3.0 box is this true ,if so has anyone got a spare 1 for sale ?

Hi Richard, you don't need to buy one! The electronic sender on the Alfa gearbox is a sender unit for the electronic speedo obviously. If you unbolt it from the top of the gearbox you'll see it's mechanically driven with a square peg..... and the thread is standard Fiat cable sooo you just junk this part and attach the cable to the gearbox and the job's done.
If only they were all as simple!

great stuff thanks guy,another job of the list,it on to the final straight, just need the body work painted,exhaust and a little trimming fitted ,sva test and a trip over to meet you guys for a few pints !

Sorry to say, the newer gearboxes doesn't have this feature. I dontī't know when the "peg drive" dissapeared. Guess ca 1998 and newer?
Mine doesn't have :(
