Help and probably parts wanted

I think I've wired my Beta Bosch ignition module up wrongly and broken it.All I can get is a backfire from the engine which was running fine when I took it out of the donor 4 months ago, I havent touched the timing,dizzy or carbs.Don't appear to have any spark at the plugs, there is power to the resistor on the + side of the coil and to the module.
Can some one please help with a simple test sequence to verify what is or isnt happening in the ignition set up as you can tell I am no electrical expert. If I have broken the module does any one have a spare lying about?

I have some beta bits in the garage from a VX I broke a while back.Do you have a p/n of the module and I'll check if I have one that matches.

Matt, the part number on the front of the module is 0227100014 ,hope you've got one thanks for looking cheers David M

Have youy tried Betacar (http://www.betacar.co.uk/) ? They may have them or be able to help.
I remember reading in the GC book that these were also available from Unipart I think???

No Bosch but Magnetti Marelli. Is this the one? I think the one for the VX is a diffferent, smaller unit.

Thanks but wasn't the right one, but I've found the right Bosch unit on Ebay just trying to negoiate buying with the resistor and coil as a package in case I've broken these as well. Do you know the definitive wiring route to put these into the Hawk harness?,Gerry H suggested you were the expert, he didnt know. David M

Sorry David! Gerry would suggest that, passing the buck. The only electronic unit I ever fitted was the VX one and I had both a VX wiring diagram and a Lancia HPE VX for comparison at the time. Needless to say I have neither now, furthermore, my memory isn't what it was, or so people tell me....
