I was thinking about the concept of the Lancia Stratos as a kit car – the idea of building a new chassis/body, then equipping it with other parts from existing cars. But how much of the Stratos was unique?
Chassis, front & rear bodywork. Spoilers. Dashboard, binnacle, doorcards, carpets, engine mounts exhaust. Seats?
Can we complete the list?
Go gett'em boys! :)

Not the engine mounts.
Unique (applying only to the stradale, incomplete list):
Inlet manifold
Complete exhaust system
Front and rear suspension including anti-roll bars
Steering arm
Steering rack
Front and rear springs and dampers
Wheels
Doors, doorcards and complete body work including front light housing
Seats
Dashboard and instruments
Gas pedal
Hydraulic clutch
Rear hub carriers
Rear wheel bearings
Gear linkage
Air scoop
Chassis
Windshield
Side windows
Rear plexiglass window
Gas tanks
Gas caps
Carpets
Steering wheel
Doesn't leave much car out does it? Petty things like mirrors, switches, door handles, lights, body hinges, ..., can be found on other cars. The percentage of unique parts is certainly much higher than any modern car and the huge majority of same era cars.
No wonder some called the Stratos a prototype you can own.
I'll bet that if you only used unique parts you could drive the car...
The Gr.4 car has a lot more unique parts.
