:) I am slowly getting there The 24v motor has been modified to take an Alfa 75 distributor, which works with my existing DTA ECU/wiring setup. This is now running. next jobs are to get a new exhaust made and remap the ECU to suit the 24v rather than the old 12v.

Have posted other images in the gallery.

Hi Roger.

Seeing that dizzy takes me back a ways - having had both Alfa 75 and GTV6 in the past :)

As for the exhaust, I know you won't want to buy the full system from Hawk, but you may want to ask how much Gerry would charge for a set of link pipes. Andy made these up from my 24v car, to include flexible sections, so that they go from the standard 24v tubular manifolds to the 'standard' Hawk silencer.

These look like the more difficult parts to make, so it may be worthwhile trying to get a set of these and then make up the silencer itself to fit the two rear flanges?

Of course, Andy won't want to make a single set of these at a time, so Gerry would have to get a number of sets made up and pay for them all up front. It is probably a good time for him to have the 24v link pipes in stock, if he doesn't already, but that doesn't mean that they will be cheap.

Anyway, just a thought.

I am planning to take the car to a chap in Barton upon Humber on Tuesday - with the old exhaust set up and get him to copy it in the larger diameter pipe needed for the 24v and also to try and equalise the pipe lengths as they were decidedly unequal previously - I'll let you know if he's any good.

Roger, what's the anatomy of the inside of the Hawk silencer? I know you cut access for repacking - is it divided up side to side or front to back?

Hi Roger,

What type/year of car does your engine come from , it looks different than the 24 valve engines I've seen so far, see attached image.

Same motor, just with the front cam box trim/coil cover removed and the rear plenum swopped for a 12 valver by the look of it. Oh, and a dizzy grafted on.

Correct, I have simply done away with the front cover and cut away the part of the plenum that restricts access to the plugs. A 12v plenum would be too restrictive.
Re the silencer - it is divided side to side with one pipe having perforations in one half of the silencer ,the other pipe has perorations in the other half - if you see what I mean.
