World of Sport reports

Does anyone know if it's possible to get hold of any of those old 'World of Sport' ITV British Open Championship and World Championship Barrie Hinchcliffe Productions Ltd rally reports? Like the Welsh, Scottish, Mintex, Circuit of Ireland, Manx, RAC, Monte etc.

The period I'm talking about is roughly late 1970s to mid 1980s.

Dunno. I tried asking the BBC some years back, to no avail, about any old coverage of Rallycross events (was that on BBC Grandstand, I can't remember now), which of course used to feature the Stratos.

Don't suppose google would help much, to try and get contact email addresses.

Perhaps one of the small rally video operators would like to try chasing this up?

Yes, I remember seeing the rallycross Stratos on 'Grandstand'. A dvd with all the best bits from the years of 'Grandstand' rallycross would sell, you'd think? Maybe too much like hard work to put one together?

Regarding the 'Word of Sport' or BHP reports. I think this is the closest thing available off the shelf from Duke:

I see on the 'dvd' thread that there's one coming out soon of the whole '76 Open Championship from Orchardtech, so that might be good.

If anyone wants to buy a Duke video/dvd, they usually have a stand at Autosport International, NEC next week - maybe even with some special offers (at least no postage to pay if you buy it there)

Duke also do a Castrol video (maybe DVD now) The Tale of Three rallies, which covers late 70's Sanremo and RAC.

There was a little Strato's coverage, but still some good period footage if I remember right........Can't find it at the mo :( probably lent it out!
