1) Any good ( or bad) ways to attach the spotlight cover that you recommend (or not)?
2) Are there any manufacturers of spotlight unit holders for pods? I've got a pair of spots to go in the pod, but haven't seen rim mounts anywhere. Is it a job for the local engineering shop?

I have bought Piaa lamps from DT for mine. they have a ring that clamps around the lens with tabs for the adjustable mounting screws. All you need to do is rivet on some threaded fixings behind the grp. Real easy, but fit it after sva as the rings are smaller than 2.5 radius.

That's the sort of thing I'm after, do they sell them on their own?

Not sure if thet would fit your lamps though. The rings are made from a channel section. Have a look in my gallery later, i'll post a pic with channel dimensions.

You can use a standard headlight mounting bowl and that'll give you all the adjusters as well. They fit neatly enough and don't foul the bodywork underneath. Fiat 124 Spider ones are on my outer at the moment with PIAA rings stretched around the Cibie Super Oscar inners. They will be replaced with Carello Megalux ones as soon as I can source a set though.

Chris, I used four dzus type overcentre catches to hold the cover on. Two on the top of the cover and one on each lower corner. The inner mating surfaces of the cover are lined with a length of thin rubber (old inner tube) to prevent chafing the paintwork away. The main parts of the clips are fixed to the cover and the latch plates to the pod and bodywork. I doubt the fixings are original but the cover is rarely on. However, the lower outer latch plates wouldn't pas SVA. The upper ones are ok as they wouldn't be touched by the SVA ball, being buried between the lamp bulges.

What bulbs do those use? It says 135/90 Watt, but why would you have a dipping bulb in a lamp pod? It says the slimline lamps take single filament H3s - is that what you've got?

When i bought the lenses i didn't buy the bulbs because i knew it would be ages till they got used and didn't want to break them.
I'm not sure which type bulb they take, i'll have to take a look. Probably a h3.
I have just retrieved the pod from the garage roof space and will finish the cutting and shaping sunday night.

Chris,
I bought a 2nd hand pod for a pug 205 for the lamps and fittings. sold the pod on once I had removed these. Nearly always two or three for sale in motoring news
