View Full Version : Veglia instruments - Condesing water inside

I wonder if anybody out there has the same problem with the Veglia instruments: In spring

and autumn time, basicaly when then temperature is lower than in summer timer (and maybe the

humidity higher) I have the problem, that on the inside of the glas water condenses and

forms a kind of "fog" after approx. 20 minutes of drive. The instruments seem to be quite

warm at that time and I assume, that the humidity of the air inside condenses, because the

glas-temperature is below the condensing-point. Driving very long the fog goes away again.

In summertime it does not even create. The effect is on almost every instrument. I think the

problem is that the instruments are closed and do not allow any ventilation, thus eventual

humidity stays where it is and dependend on outside (= glass) temperature the effect is

vivid.
Has anybody the same problem and a suggestion how to solve? I thought of drilling small

holes is the instrument plastic cases to allow ventilation. A maybe crazy idea (too

complicated) could be to connect the instruments via small nipples and a choke to the

suction-hose (for brake). There must be something easier.....

Have fun, Andreas

Leaking heater matrix sending vapour through your ventilation ducts under the dashboard? Not happening in the summer because you don't use the heating then?

Hi Andreas,

Sadly this is a "feature" of the Veglia clocks - they all do it to some degree, even my Evolution 2 was prone to the oil pressure guage misting up.

Sorry, but I never found a fix for it or a quick way to de-mist the guage - other than to drive around (at speed) to get the car interior warmed up!!

Cheers
