I'm not so hot on what is entirely original, but think I've seen a few odd features I did not think were on original Stradale's.
However, that sequence of photo's is probably one of the best references for anyone building a replica - plenty of detail in there that I hadn't seen in other books/photos...

Tryphon, thank you for digging out these pictures. Brilliant record even if not completely original.
The red button looks like a hazard warning switch and the lack of vent pipe and valve seem to me to be because there is a fuel vapour absorption canister has been fitted. Both of these mods I suppose are part of making the car "US road legal" as the ad claims.
I've come to realise that the body style I like the most is the stradale without all the bits sticking out - unfortunately my Hawk though has Gp4 round arches and spoilers all over.
The pics raise a few queries that you and others may know but are a mystery to me:
Can anybody tell me how the boot lid is locked shut and opened again - or is it on a spring clip and you just pull it?
Which car did the coolant header tank come from (or is it unique to the Stratos)?
How can you tell that the windscreen is not original?

There's a 2nd car for sale at this site, totally overpriced (or do prices go ever higher regardelss of state or quality?). Essential bits missing, I wouldn't go as far as to qualify it a wreck but will require a lot of money to straighten out.
As for bodystyle although this comes down to personnal taste and the Stradale looks "purer" you have to know that the car's handling is greatly affected by the use of similarly sized front and rear tyres. Only by using the exacerbated rear ones does the Stratos handle as is should.
Back to your questions:
The boot lid is opened or closed by turning the spring loaded button on top of it. You lock it and the button won't turn, was this what you were looking for?
The header tank is unique to the Stratos AFAIK. Gr.4 cars used a Beta plastic item.
The original windscreen sourced from Glaverbel was produced only in quantities that matched the cars produced. It has been unobtainable for several decades. It had white markings at the upper left corner which, as you can see, are missing from the one in question.

Thanks Tryphon. What I meant by the boot lock question was that I could see no sign of a knob or key hole in the pictures - certainly nothing like the arrangement I've seen before on the replicas - but there is clearly some kind of catch.
