Hi everybody,
have just paid my last instalment on my transformer HF 2000, will begin serious work and engine rebuild next month. the car was started in 1983 and was running 4 years ago, and never completed. need to re build the rattley beta volumex lump, buy and fit glass and interior as well as re-plumb the correct rad and fans. then trim, fit and prep the body for it's marlborough livery, have got a busy year ahead! but am SO happy I got my dream car at last, wanted one since I was a child and my dad was rally driving for the RAF team.

Enjoy your rebuild Doug. Hopefully you'll be ready for summer. I think there will be quite a few new cars appearing next year.

cant wait to get in to it, just looked at the reciepts for the Transformer, it was bought in 1989 and It says Standard GRP body and Sprint Chassis. does that mean anything in particular?

Just the same as mine.

Transformer changed chassis supplier to Safety devices and had a suspension upgrade. If i remember correctly there was the sprint and super sprint options.

Firstly, the sprint had tarmac spec pick up points beside the normal ones. It was just a second set of holes on each pick up point. The super sprint went further and offered this plus rose jointed wishbones and links all round instead of rubber bushes. Kevlar bodywork was also an option but too rich for my pocket.

Upload a pic or two if you have a digital camera.

Are you planning on being at Donnington next sunday? Seems that many of the usual suspects will be there. It should be a good day.

Chassis should have provision for a sloping bulkhead as well. The sprint spec chassis was standardised when supply moved to Safety Devices.

My chassis is an 89 Safety Devices but has the vertical bulkhead. How does the chassis differ for sloping or vertical bulkheads?

There was some sheet metal work around 200mm forwards of what would be the flat bulkhead base. This was shaped to replicate an original style sloping bulkhead (you then needed the shaped ally panels. Look in my gallery, there should be a pic although mine is further forward still.

It could be that the original purchaser asked for the vertical bulkhead.
