I didn't realise that GT40 rear lights were different.
Seller has some of these too, but no use on a Stratos.

Original GT40 lights are of Simca origin.

I've got what I'm pretty sure is an X1/9 column and shaft lying around.
'Thing is, I'm not sure the X1/9 one is the right one for a Hawk. I've also got a 124 column and matching shaft which is the one I have fitted to the car at the moment.
The X1/9 steering column and shaft set up seems too long for use in a Hawk/Transformer?
I've got an X1/9 ignition switch, but I planned to use that, unless I can find a 124 ignition switch.

Hawk manual says Fiat 124, also 125,127,early 131, early 132. The list of X19 parts needed does not mention steering column.

An early (pre-'77, I think) X1/9 steering column is the right one, but the intermediate shaft is too long. I've tried several intemediate shafts, from 124 Spyder, X1/9, and Beta Coupe, and haven't yet found one with the right combination of length and spline types. I may have to have one cut down and re-welded.

early beta fits too - there's a fat and a thin version. Check the centre bearing to see which you need.

Best way is to fit a seat then tailor a column to suit. With the standard setup i couldn't get my legs under the steering wheel. I have now used an x19 column fitted onto a wedge shaped fabrication bolted to the hawk mount. This moved my steering wheel clear of my legs and feels to be a more natural position(for me) The intermediate shaft was shortened to suit and had a 18mm rod end bearing fitted before the uj was welded back on.Heat from the welding can fry the seals in the uj, If you are carefull they will be ok. One point to mention, if you have the inter shaft shortened , have the uj welded back on by a pro!!
All this bolts to a alloy plate bracket fitted to the original hawk split bearing mount.
I'll try to upload a pic to the gallery.
Many of the drawings in 72 to 85 show the steering wheel at around ninety degrees to the plane of the windscreen.
