I'm currently researching a book and have some pictures and details of Tom Pryce's Tour of Eppynt outing.
If anyone knows anything else about this outing or knows of any other pictures I'd be pleased to know.
Many thanks
Martin Leonard

I was there the day that Tom Pryce went off on Four Ways bridge. For those of you that have not visited Epynt it is where the Military and the SAS train high up on the mountain plateau, and all roads are on tarmac with large ditches on both sides not a place for the faint hearted.
The sequence of events happenned only a few miles into the stage when Tom Pryce came tearing over a right brow. The stratos continued down hill for about 400yds into the S type bridge which he failed to negotiate. The stratos front end caught the corner of the bridge which resulted in the stratos finally landing in the river There was some damage to the front of the car which the chequered flag team managed to repair for the stratos to continue on the afternoon stages. Four Ways bridge wasn't well known at that time only a dozen of us were there on that day. It is now one of the best spectator spots on Epynt. Good luck with your findings Martin, I only wished that I had taken my camera with me that day.

There's a photo on page 72 of the Nigel Trow book showing the C.F. car in a ditch in Wales. Is that a different incident?

Could you scan me the picture Chris so that I can identify if it is Four way bridge. I might even be in the picture back in the 70's :(

I'll have a go at scanning it when I get a minute.
The car has number 4 on the door, and the caption says Welsh Rally 1975?
'Car's gone in backwards and a bit beached between the front wheels on the edge of the ditch.

Probably a different location Chris, this happened on a club event around Christmas time.

Geraint, I have seen some images from that day and there was one person there with good camera kit but we don't know who he is!

Is it the same Tom Pyrce who drove for the UOP Shadow F1 team and had that awful accident?

The book spoken about in 2005 is now a reality and actually almost sold out. We have some copies left which can be obtained via www.griffinrally.com

There are some cracking photos in the book as well, anybody who has any interest in rallying & motorsport photography should have this book.

Does anybody know which CF chassis is being reserached? Number 1, 2, or 3? I obviously have 1637 which at one point was number 2, is this the car being reserached here?

It's just concerning Tom Pryce's drive of CF number 1 on Epynt in 1975, for a book about the history of rally use on the M.O.D. tarmac roads on the moors of Epynt in Wales. Not research about any of the CF cars in general.
