View Full Version : Clearout.....

Following the Gp 4 conversion I have a few bits surplus to requirements and I still need to buy a few bits to complete the job but I've run out of cash.....So..
I can't see myself needing the Stradale dash anymore but it's hardly the "standard" Hawk one anymore.... The shape was altered significantly to replicate the original more closely. There is a more prominent bulge on the right side where the light switch is mounted, the instrument binnacle has a deep lip at the top tapering to a smaller one at the bottom and there is the bulge for the heater control. In addition there is the glovebox. All trimmed in Alcantara except the ally dash panel (included). It will need a new heater slider plus the dash vents before being fitted. £75 or best offer?
Also I have a set of switches to suit the dash and Fiat 124 instruments as well (but no ammeter or oil temp) plus a speedo and rev counter from a Fiat Dino. I don't have a spare rheostat though. £15 for the switches and £40 for 124 gauges, £150 for the Fiat Dino ones.
I have a set of the correct Carello front foglights (used with not perfect bodies) together with a pair of brand new Ford Carellos that could be used instead or the lenses swapped over. £25 per pair or £40 for both sets.
There is also a pair of Fiat Dino Coupe front indicators in excellent condition with orange lenses. £150 the pair.
There is also an Alfa 164 12v engine, gearbox, wiring harness, ancilliaries, AFM and ECU all nicely painted and clean that I'll never get around to using. £150 but I'll need a few stong arms to load that!
Ignition switch with a Lancia key (may have a spare as well) for £15.
I'm sure there are some other bits as well but that'll do for the time being!

Guy,

I would like the swiches and maybe the Fiat 124 gauges. Do the gauges include oil temp. and amperes ( or volts )?

best regards,

Pim

Hi Pimms - sorry, no ammeter or temp gauge. I'll dig out the bits and make sure that they are all there and drop you a PM.

I doubt I'll need the guages though. I've already got a 124 Sport set.

Can I have the 12V engine & etc please?

Guy,

Are the spotlamps the ones that will go in the group 4 Pod? If so, do I take it that all 4 would be useable for that reason. Either way, I think I would be interested in taking them. Please advise.

Either that, or a portable wireless laptop

The engine and box of course!!
But hey ho it's going to a good home.
And I still have no roof on my garage.....

John. I may well have a spare 12v V6 engine and box early in the new year - not decided what i will be doing with the old one yet. £150 does seem VERY cheap though. Looks like i'll have to pay more than that for a gearbox alone.

Cheers

John,

Well, I'll have 2 of each...so I'm sure we can sort something out, even if it's just a loan if Tim's motor isn't available. I was actually watching a 164 on E-bay with a view to buying it for engine & box as I'm having daft ideas about superchargers again...... I'm sure you can't imagine why!! But as Tim says, £150 is a good price! This is the car I was watching... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4577688192&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1 it was up for sale a while back but looks like it might be a good 'un for a donor.

Ok, so far the Dash has gone to John Hincliffe who I'd promised first refusal to. Fran has first refusal on the engine/box but this may be difficult to arrange collection so if that falls through it's Chris Savages. Pim gets the switches and 124 gauges and Chris Jarvis the Dino indicators with first refusal on the Dino gauges (as they are KPH ones - identical to the Stratos bar the word Fiat on the dial).

The lamps are the rectangular ones the go in the nose recess next to the radiator grill Mick. Please let me know if you still want them and please note that the new Ford ones are missing the mounting bolts that go through the body.

Apologies to Pim! I'm struggling to find a matching speedo & rev counter but will keep looking. Can't remember selling a set recently so I ought to have them but...... senility!

Thanks Guy.

I was hoping Guy's spare Dino Speedo was an MPH one, so the Dino guages are open to anyone.

Just a thought, are KPH speedos legal in the UK? Or do they need marking in some way? Say, if you ran an original Stratos for example?

This one's for Pimms again! I remembered you starting a thread about some Gp4 knobs you'd found and was wondering if you thought my switches were the Gp4 type? They're not, they are the normal Stradale rocker type. Do you still want them?

Well the ones I have in my car only read kph but, being an accountant, it's easy for me to do multiplication and long division in my head. Except after beer. I just remember 50 kph is 31mph, 50mph is 80kph, 100kph is 62 mph.. you get the picture! MOT man has never commented on it which may mean he's never noticed it and I certainly wouldn't entertain putting through an SVA test without recalibration/remarking.
Impresses the kids who don't realise that A. few cars can exceed the top speed shown on the speedo and B. that it isn't in MPH! Lots around here think it'll do 250!!!

Guy,

I did start a thread about the group 4 pull swiches, but in order to get my car through the SVA in England ( which is easyer then in Holland ) I will first have to make a normal stradale dash ( right ???) as soon a have my SVA approval I have to import trhe car in to Holland and get my registration here. After that I will put in the Group 4 dash. So I will still be needing the rocker swiches, correct me if I'm wrong!?

Guy,

Maybe you're getting a bit confused with all the replies to youre thread, you don't have to look for a speedo and rev. counter for me. I wondered if there was a n oil temp. gauge and an amp. gauge in youre gauge set ( I understand those are the original gauges on the stradale ?). If you don't have those than I'm only interested in the rocker swiches.
Sorry for the confusion, best rgerards :

Ok Pim, the rocker switches are yours then! Just need to sort out payment and postage. Please drop me a PM with your address and I'll work out the price - unless you're going to be at Donnington?

The Dino instruments have also gone now to Ken so all that I think is unspoken for are the foglights and the ignition switch.

Found a few more parts that aren't needed any more! Apart from the ignition swich and front rectangular foglights there is a pair of Fiat X19 headlamp mounting buckets and trim rings in reasonable condition (no rust on the outside!) plus some usable headlights for them. £25 the pair?
The following items will be Ebayed next week I think, provided I can find time to list them! The door mirrors, first series Beta ones, a pair of choke lever knobs and a pair of correct NOS door edge lights.
Cheers

That's no problem Guy, the easyest way to get my car registered in Holland is to get through the SVA in England and then import the car into Holland. So I will need some RHD lights as well as LHD, Thanks.

I was thinking about the Donington event, I believe Tim is going there and I understood he will also be going to Spa at the end of this month ( with John Rutter as well ). I will be going there as well with Nico. So maybe its possible to ask Tim to bring the lot to Spa. I will send Tim a E- mail to ask him.

Hi Pimms, I had thought that too. However, I dont know if i will have room in the car. I am driving over in the Stratos with a friend and we need to fit in 2 lots of race gear, plus tools, clothes etc.

Guy, please bring the items for Pimms to Donnington, so I can see how b ig they will be. Maybe Keith can have them in the car untill we meet up with John at Dover, then put the stuff in his car for the final leg of the journey.

Cheers
