Can anyone help me please.
Urgently needed The drive shaft for the drivers side of the stratos.

I am told that it is a lancia beta unit. and that both drivers side and passenger side are the same length, although I am not 100%certain.

I have just tried to fit the alfa v6 engine to my car and the passenger side
fits and matches up perfectly to the adaptor plate however the drivers side drive shaft (3 inches longer than the passenger side) is 3 inches too long to fit the adaptor plate.
I will take a complete driveshaft and CV joints or just the drive shaft.

please call with whatever you have

cheers

I think the older Betas had asymmetrical driveshafts, later improved to equal length ones. Might be the source of your problem, but I'm afraid i can't supply you with one. There are always people dismantling Betas on eBay, or try Hawk.

I think you are right Chris, the early Beta did not have an intermediate driveshaft and I'm pretty sure that the Monte Carlo had a long and a short one throughout it's life. But I stand to be corrected, however, the shafts would be a lot more than 3 inches different, more like 3 foot!
I'll have a look in my spares box to see if I have any - if there are two you are welcome to one of them but I may not be able to get into the garge until the weekend so, anyone else out there please step forward.

Glad i read that before I went into the garage! Didn't fancy overturning the stores looking for something that might not be there!
