Hello,

Just to let you all know that Mr. André Chardonnet has passed away on August 20th at the Bourges hospital in France.
Our deepest sympathies to the man that brought the Stratos to glory against all odds as the factory never really supported his efforts until his successes were undeniable.

A sad day,
Tryphon.

How true, imagine how short the competition life of the Stratos would have been without the Chardonnet team-even the last RAC car was borrowed by Lancia from Chardonnet!.

A Sad Day..... Regarding wins I believe that Darniche scored the most victories in a Lancia Strato's

You're right there Bernard.

Didn't he win Corsica in '81?

The car must have been well past its 'sell by' date, because development must have ended in the late '70s with Fiat's 131 programme and Lancia were using the O37 in anger in 1982. Only months after.
