Hiya all, having been a regular visitor to the forums and after meeting a few of you at the Warwickshire show I have taken the plunge on my first post. The HF3000 was picked up a month or so ago and I have set to work on bodywork (a lot more to do than expected!) So I am sure there will be many questions in the future lol.
Anyway does anyone know what liveries are already have been done? I know Guy has just finished his Pirelli car (very nice). Has anyone done a Olio Fiat livery?
Thanks in advance Tom

Hi,I am currently building a G4 HF2000 a la Chequered Flag (Billy Coleman 78 Ulster Rally) and am painting the rolling shell at present. My scheme is fairly simple but the Stratos is not easy to prepare and paint and very time consuming. I hate to think what a paint shop would charge. Good luck with your choice David

Olio Fiat has been done x 3 i think recently. Alitalia has been done several times, with some variations - eg blue insread of the green. Mine's being painted Publimmo racing / Benning 1979 Monte livery as we speak.
I've a stack of colourscheme photos for anybody thinking what to do. Some crackers that haven't been done - eg Bic, Rossignol, Cavalca, Aseptogyl....

Hmmmm...Aseptogyl.
Perhaps if I painted my car pink the Mrs might finally like it!

Hi Tom, and welcome. Regarding liveries, you know how it is, you wait for one then 3 come along. I'm just complting the Olio Fiat livery on my Corse and hope to debut it fairly soon ;)
I know there are two others being done and to be honest, I think thats great. I certainly is one of the most striking liveries I've seen. But like Chris says, there are still many not been done. Tough choices ahead my friend but whatever you decide on, good luck. :)

I believe that Rowan Atkinson owns a Marlboro Grp 4 Stratos. However, i do not know if it is/was an original works car. Anyone know any more about his car?
Cheers

I think Gerry has half shares in a Marlboro liveried car with John Whalley - the ex Graham Bates car? Haven't seen it in years!

Rowan Atkinson sold his genuine ex-works Gp4 car to a guy in Stavanger, Norway about 4 years ago, but I heard that he has since sold it on again.

ex-Atkinson's Stradale was in very bad shape, maybe that is a clue?

John Whalley's car was definitely a Marlboro livery in the pictures I've seen of it. John Brewer's car (exported to the USA many years ago) was also Marlboro before he started converting it to left hand drive. I believe he intends to change liveries when the conversion is complete.

On second thoughts she can't read a map anyway, so I'll stick to my young Apprentice, he loves the Red-Orange.....

The car part-owned by John Whalley and Gerry Hawkridge has now been sold on.
That was built by (Grumpy) Graham Bates many moons ago, with a Dino engine and Marlboro paint scheme.
The Dino lump blew up big-time, so GB sold the car to JW, less the engine. That went to Denys who fitted it into his Pirelli liveried car.
JW fitted an Alfa V6 to the car. I believe that the JW/GH car was repainted in a plain colour before it was sold on in the past year - but I could easily be wrong about that.
There was also the HF2000 of Ian Stent, who was editor of Which Kit? magazine.
He had that painted in a very bright Marlboro livery (by Bob Pilot), although I think that car has been sold on to someone in Japan. Could also be wrong about the destination, but I'm sure it was sold abroad.
That's all I know of the Marlboro kits.
The Atkinson/Norway original car was featured in a Scandinavian magazine of some sort, and that article was highlighted in the Strat Club newsletter last year...
Cheers all,

I agree thats nicer than the other one, looking at that as well there seems to be a massive advantage. Looks like a pretty easy paint job which equals less $$Dollars$$ lol

Thanks Chris,
I hadn't seen those before. I tend to agree with the concensus, the latter one is nicer but they both seem attreactive. Maybe someone should consider them.

Reading about this bloke Valerio Comuzzi it seems he is extremly respected for his Stratos replica models.

81 tour de corse, L'automobile for me!! Gonna cost a fortune in stickers.
Anybody got any pics of that car on the stages?
Not quite authentic cos i've got round arch group 4. I plan on curving the horizontal stripes a little where they pass over the rear arches too. Thats the only thing i don't quite like. It makes the car look slightly odd.

Thank you for all the info and help. I have been looking at the rossignol and R6. Although from looking at the pictures i thought the rossignol livery was black on the bottem (must be my computer) Have looked at so many model sites now, but at least iam improving my italian lol!
