Very striking Chris. And dont worry, two weeks will fly by. Any projected finishing date or is it too early to say.

Hoping for early next year. Main worries are the clutch, which doesn't disengage properly, and the brakes, which are crap. I can't see where I'm going wrong with them. Nothing seems different in my setup from what seems to work perfectly for other people. Since they're all new kit, there shouldn't be any worries there. Hey Ho - the joys of hybrid engineering!

I’ll look forward to see the finished article, you can even get the lower lamp pod from Hawk to match the model!

You could also get the wheels to match Chris...! Hope it all turns out how you want it to!

I went yesterday, and all he's managed is some sanding. Some micro bubbles on the centre section went right down to the primer coat. He's working round his regular work (which has been busy) to keep the cost down. Scottish to the core!

Starting to sound like my 10 week "4 week" paint job :(

As long as it doesn't end up costing what mine did you'll probably be happy enough!

Frustrating, isn't it.

I've spent hours on my bodywork, much more than I had ever anticipated so don't be too optimistic on time scales. Think there is an end to the pin hole/inperfection filling and should get my spray booth slot within two weeks. Two weeks he says...........

As for the rear louvres, hidden in the back of the workshop until I'm really bored. I often wondered why they were nearly always a different colour to the rest of the car.

The front and rear sections have already changed shape with just primer, all that after an 18 year post cure at ambient.

I'll be a happy bunny when it's painted and back together, probably the worst part of the build. No electrical system as yet so that statement could change.

The wiring will be simple enough as long as you don't load it down with all sorts of nonsense like central locking, electric mirrors, interior light delay & fade, A/C, radio & CD changer, GPS, alarm, immobiliser etc like some idiot I know did......Oh, that was me wasn't it...... :)

I know somebody who spent over 7 years building a state-of-the-art multiplexed eectrical system for his Corse, an he still spends most weekends in the garage (I must get back to work now!) Trouble is, what seemed like rocket science 7 years ago is now shopping-car technology. Still it gives me something to do in traffic jams, monitoring the boot temperature on the data logger!

Oops - maybe I should finish the touch-typing couse I started (also about 7 years ago) instead of spending so much time in the garage.
Maybe that's why there were so many software bugs! I'll bet not many people had their fog lights come on with the brake lights!

..no, but the radio reset every time I hit the brakes!

(now sorted)

Reminds me of a childish but hilarious prank we played many moons ago. Wired the horn to the brake lights on a friends car then watched with amusement as he made his way down the steep entrance drive to the site...how we laughed.....
