Now if they stopped abusing the Stratos name it could be dismissed as just another piece of dogs.....

But Christian Hrablek owns the copyright to the Stratos name, so he can do what he likes with it.....

That`s true. But "Hrablek Stratos" doesn`t sound as good as "Lancia Stratos".

Does anyone know if this is a serious project or not?

Also "Hrablek Stratos" doesn`t look much like "Lancia Stratos".
Anybody who takes stands at Geneva and the IAA must be spending some cash - whether its serious or frivolous only time will tell...

Anybody going to the IAA in Frankfurt next month? My employer is going to have a booth this year, and I'm going to be there from September 16-25.

I always do the IAA, usually the first Monday morning (20th), but haven't yet fixed a timetable. Which hall will you be in? - its a long walk from one end to the other!

David,

No idea where Dana Corporation's booth will be located. If the automotive suppliers are typically grouped together, that's probably where we'll be. I'll try to find out this week.

Just found out we will be in Hall 6.1, Stand B-30. We're between the Denso Europe and Aisin-Seiki displays. If I'm reading this right, I think we're upstairs in the same hall as the Fiat-Lancia stand.

The Fenomenon Stratos showed up at Frankfurt in an Alitalia livery, albeit not an exact copy of the rally version. Not sure if the doors open now, but it at least looks like there's an interior through the windows.

I'll upload some photos next week when I get home.

What does everyone think of this concept?? Was hoping to do a Stratos as a final year project at uni, but seems like the idea has been over played with now! Do people think this a good design? Does it produce the same emotion in you as the original? Would it be worth giving it ago myself or do you think it should be left as a classic? Your views would be very welcome.

I must admit that the new paintjob and trim detail have worked wonders compared with the monstrosity at Geneva.
It's still only a mock-up and a long way from being street-legal. The styling as ever, is a matter of taste......

This side wiew is perhaps more attractive...

Overall, I like the Fenomenon Stratos concept, although there are details I dislike. Particularly the front end styling and the split windscreen. Especially the split windscreen... I'd rather see a proper set of doors with useful side windows and conventional roof pillars, but that's my opinion.

I personally don't think it's as emotive as the original. Given a choice between the two, I'd take an original, hands down. Like most modern cars, the Fenomenon concept is too bulbous, and looks heavy because of the fullness of its shape. Not sure if that's driven by aerodynamics, some kind of pedestrian safety concern, or modern aesthetics.

If you wanted to do your own take on the Stratos for a design study, I'd say go for it. The Fenomenon concept is the best concept to date, but there's still room for improvement. Just remember that Fenomenon owns the rights to the Stratos name now!
