I see Gerry is now making singular spot lamp pods as an alternative to four. These are to be fixed on top of the nose, like the four lamp pods are.

Some of the early Marlborough sponsored cars works rally cars had something similar.

Plus points are: Doesn't cover your Lancia badge up (if you've got one?)
Less drag (if drag's an issue?)
Less spot lamps to buy?

Are you sure? I saw the first production pair for Guy's car at Harrogate, and they are to fit under the nose, masking the air intake beside the indicators. Gerry hasn't made identical copies of the original that Guy lent him as a pattern either. Don't know why.

Chris

There was bit about it in Kit Car mag.

The lower ones (as you've illustrated) are to follow, but the upper ones are available now. If I remember right?

I read it, tried to remember key points and put it back on the shelf. They'll throw me out of WH Smiths one of these days!

Lower lamp pods are available now. The original mountings relied upon 2 flimsy flanges, bolted in the four corners to the front of the radiator surround and the bodywork above and below the indicator panel opening. How strong this is is open to interpretation. I suspect that Gerry thought it a little weak and consequently modified the originals to make the new ones. Certainly a lot stronger! Having looked at the new ones plus what remains of the originals I am coming to the conclusion that the new ones can be easily modified to look like the originals but retain the strength of the new mouldings. Hopefully they'll be on the car for Donnington....
