Hi everyone, as promised , some pictures of the car following it's debut at Harrogate this weekend. Chris Richards has seen it so I'll leave judgement up to him....
The car isn't quite finished yet, there are a few decals missing and the new lamp pods need some work and paint before they can go onto the car. All this ought to be done before Donnington in October.
The show itself was very wet on Saturday which affected the turnout quite badly. The halls didn't seem to have the same numbers of manufacturers as in previous years or the quality. Gerrys stand had two ally 289s and an ally 427 as well as my car. I honestly don't think anyone else came close but watch totalkitcar.com for the review in full later this week.
There were a few good potential customers, mainly Sunday, and one poor sod with a £50,000 budget looking for a turnkey Cobra who fell for Gerrys 289 FIA only to be sent away for another £20k...... I reckon he'll be back next year! Three or four potential Stratos customers as well. Two had already bought donor 164s and a third was selling his race prepped MX5 after todays race at Cadwell Park to order the kit at the end of September.
All in all, a good weekend for Gerry.
Journey across to Harrogate on Friday wasn't fun with a fatal TRA onthe M6 causing a big holdup followed by downpours on the A59. At least the car is properly weatherproofed now! Nothing coming in under the raingutters! The journey home tonight was a joy! A59 was pretty clear and no holdups.
Hope you all like the piccys!

Well that's about it for the time being, hope you all like the interim results! There are no prizes for spotting the missing decals (although there might be for spotting the missing one that isn't missing........ but you'll have to have a careful look at the Kyosho 1/18 model for that!)
Next week I'll try to start work on the new pods and I'l post some piccies of those once I've retreived them from the boot!
Guy

PS - let's have some of Jerrys new scheme please!!!

Superb Guy, I'm deeply jealous. I'm just glad I didn't put mine in Pirelli colours last year, I hate being second best.

It's funny, with so many details just right, as on Guy's car, nobody would ever notice the right hand drive. Even people who you might think would know?

If you know what I mean??

It looks fantastic Guy, but just as I expected it would.

Well done Guy, the car looks stunning. It looked good before the conversion, but now, well, just awesome.
Hope to see you and it in the flesh at Donnington.

Cheers
