Is anyone going to the show on 14th or 15th September?

I didn't even know there was a show of this sort coming up?

Do you know who its organised/promoted by?

(Particularly if it is a re-badged kit show of some form)

It's the Which-Kit? Magazine show. Kit and performance car or something along those lines. I went last year and it was quite good. They had the use of the track as well as the indoor hall, and so you could go outside and watch the machines perform (and also pay for a ride in certain cars). Not sure if I'm going or not yet. The website is at www.limelight-exhibitions.co.uk

Duncan,
thanks for the web link. I had tried limelight but had missed out the dash and got something very dull. Have now had a look at the site and may well travel down -I see that Hawk will be there.
Surely there must be a Stratos representation there?
If anyone else is going do let me know. I may well have my chassis in tow by then as Donington is on the way home from picking it up.
Cheers,
John Davidson.

I will be there on Sunday. Last year Hawk had a HF2000 (red customer car) on their stand, but this year? There's also a lot of club stands outside, the Italian exotic club (or something like that) will be there again. IIRC last year they only had Ferrari and Lambo replicas though.
The best bit IMO is watching/hearing the cars on the track.

I'm hoping to get to the show on Saturday pm. Luckily, I only live a few miles away so I should be able to put a couple of hours aside.
I really wanted to have a chat to Gerry on the Hawk stand so it makes sense to save a journey down south.
If anyone else thinks they will be there, I'd be happy to meet a few of you and sahre comments etc.
Cheers.
Mick

There were 2 Hawks on the stand on Sunday, one HF2000 which I think was the same as last years, and one HF3000 with a name on the side (Guy something?), but I have forgotten (Ooops). Both were red, though the HF3000 was a lighter red, and had grey spoilers etc rather than the more usual black. There was also a pristene metalic brown/gold stratos rep parked outside (with the Westfields?? ). I think this was a Hawk - it looked brand new (the rear wishbones and mounts were a clean black!). It also had the same badges that the Hawks inside had - the silvery ones with the blue writing. It was gone when I came out toward the end though, whoever owns it - nice car!
There were no Stratos' in the Italian car club bit, only replica Ferraris and Lambos. None on the track either (though there was a "Smart". What's up with that? It just got in the way. Entertaining seeing the Ultima's blast past though!).
Cheers

That sounds like Gerry had two customer cars on the stand. The two-litre one is probably Sue Holloway's and the three-litre would have to be Guy Mayers'.

Guy will no doubt confirm this, but I think the spoiler colours he has used are an original specification colour code (also used on the car that Geoff Turton built?).

Yeah, that would be it. They had Sue Hollowway's last year as well IIRC. Guy's had the back half open to show the engine for much of the day, but I never saw the other one with anything open. They had big warnings on them not to touch...

Yeah , I can confirm that the cars on the stand were My Hf 3000 and Sues HF2000, also there was a customer 289 for sale plus Gerrys new Kirkham 427 "Mark 3 Cobra" which sounded stunning as it was loaded onto the trailer on Sunday. I've never seen a car rock on it's springs like that, so much torque. Show was a good one with the usual pattern of serious punters on Saturday and the family day out on Sunday. The bronze car in the car park was also a Hawk belonging to a fellow club member, a few also turned up throughout the weekend without cars!

John is right about the colour of the spoilers. Period photographs usually show black ones btu that is just a trick of the light, the original spoilers were painted Grigio Scuro, a silvery grey colour. Research courtesy of Geoff Turton!
