I'm just back from 3 days in Italy, and I didn't see a single Stratos! What is going on !!
Well, it was Venice I suppose...
But then, weren't the Group 4 wide rear wheels put there for the added buoyancy?

I was hoping to see Panos' Stratos when I go on holiday on Wednesday, but he phoned me yesterday and told me that both he and the car are still in the UK.
It's not good enough - people should get there priorities right!!

Its no good going to Venice - they've only got canoes up there. They make more interesting cars around Modena and Torino!
This was a historic rally re-run a few months ago near Verona - there are 6 Stratos in there somewhere:

David,
Was that the one on June 15/16?
I was thinking of going over to see that one, but work and other things got in the way. Especially as it was the weekend after Abingdon.

Man, you people in Europe are really lucky to be able to see and even own these cars! The Stratos, at 13, is my one and only dream car. But I live in the USA. Does anybody know of Stratos owners or the cars being in the US? Thanks!

I think you'll get a few useful responses to this query!
You may also want to look at the associated Yahoo Group
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/stratosreplicaclub/
The supersite forum was (thankfully) put together by David Watson partly because the Yahoo advertising messages seem to cause far too much inconvenience when using that group. It's a fair bit quieter in there now that this forum is up and running. But the older comments and the pictures in that site will be of interest, as well as some of the contacts you will find.

While there are not a lot of cars on our side of the pond, there are more than you'd think. I can think of 4-5 completed replicas and 2-3 more that are in the works. I know of several real cars also but the exact number would be hard to say. I'd guess there are somewhere between 10-20, mostly in private collections.

David,
This rally-revival was actually an earlier event on 2 March run around the Lake Garda / Brescia area. It was part of an ongoing series of 8 known as the 3 Regions Trophy, which includes the Collli Isolani on 15 June. and the more famous RAAB Rally on 19 May which had Munari driving.
You did well not to come to this particular one as it rained all weekend!
Their web site gives an idea of the amazing range of cars competing: www.rallyrevival.too.it
