One for all the electrical experts. I have the instrument panel wired and connected all apart from the 'Hazard Warning' switch. I'm afraid that me and electrics dont really hit it off together so I need your input please.
Switch has 7 connections. (In the picture, the two bottom left 'connectors' are cut off inside the body as the switch came. this leaves 7 available)
The wiring loom has 7 connections as follows;
1, Ignition power for indicator function.
2, Battery power for hazard function.
3, Power out to flasher.
4, Power in from flasher.
5, O/S circuit.
6, N/S circuit.
7, Earth.
If my thinking is correct, the switch should illuminate with the panel lights but should flash when hazards are switched on.
Any offers as to the correct sequence of connections?

Thanks in anticipation.

Hi Mick,
I'm sorry I dont have the info at home, but I can look it up tomorrow. The switch looks like the britax type? Wire 1 wouldn't be used on that switch. Wire 2 would be a purple, wires 3 & 4 would be green/brown, wire 5 would be green/white, wire 6 would be green red & 7 will obviously be black. The black is connected to the bottom right.
With that type of bulb holder in the bottom the switch will only flash with the hazards not illuminate with side lights.
I will get back to you if nobody beets me to it

Thanks for that Craig. I'll be going for a full test of electrics on Saturday so I'll note what you suggest and see what happens.

Sorry Mick - I meant to look at the wiring diagram on the Westy for you as I think it's the same switch...but Craig has covered it now.

No problem Chris. I think I may have it covered now.

The information I have gives pin 1 Green/white (feed to right hand indicators), Pin 3 Green/red (feed to left hand indicators), pin 5 Green/pink (this is normally the feed from the hazard relay, (in hind sight the purple connects directly to the hazard relay)), pin 6 Green/brown (this is the feed from the indicator relay to the indicator switch which is broken when the hazards are switched on), pin 8 Green/brown (broken feed to indicator switch).
I hope this is some help as I am unsure how your flasher relays are wired in your loom.

Craig,

I'll let you know how I get on with that over the weekend.

Thanks for your input,
