Couldn't help but take a photo, it's photo 246 on the camera - thats a good sign. Due to a bollox moment the car came off the axle stands and onto its wheels, couldn't get the coolant pipes in as the car was too close to the garage wall.
Now it's a rolling chassis, I've got back to where I started and some catching up to do with my fellow builders.

Shouldn't that be "A long way to go", goos fun though isn't it. Now I can put in a seat and make brum brum sounds.

I must have done hundreds of miles like this too....

Now I would never admit to doing that, even if I had :D :D :D

I think there should be a chapter warning about it in the build manual.

You're absolutely right Mick. I'm sure most kits could have been built much quicker if less time was spent going brmm brmm.
However I'm not sure I could have faced all that fabrication without the promise of things to come...

Today the car came out under it's own steam, well didn't run hot enough for some steam and it was stuck in the gravel floor and had to be towed out. Life must be so much easier with a flat concrete floor.

Think I am slowly fixing the little problems, the mixture has been leaned off a bit which really helps. The alternteur is not chargeing, hence the supply of batteries. I respect anyone who has built one of these little gems, there is a lot of work involved, only another two years worth to go.

It's looking really good Shaun.

Have you got a lowered floor?

Yes, lowered floor but it may not be such a good idea as ground clearence is a bit less - I basically turned the hawk floor unside down. Getting on and off the trailer is not straight forward and the car is still very high on its suspension. Snow stopped play.

September was a good time to get the car "finished", screen in (hopefully an article for the newsletter) and mot. Good job I had my bumper pack of cable ties, spare bolts, self tapers and tool box. Not sure how long an mot should take but it was well over an hour an brought the whole garage to a standstill. Car did eventually pass.

Curse of the DVLA black hole.

Ever since I bought the car DVLA at Swansea assured me that since it was put to them before SVA came in and that the car already had been given a vin number, no sva was required. What they, team 37, (for anyone involved with these cars, Andy or Ian at team 37, kits and rebuilds are the people to talk to) didn't mention is that each local office has a certain ammount of automony. Bristol local office is a special place, you can go there but you can not telephone directly!

After 4 applications, refused for various reason I was stuck. Thanks must go here to Guy M for keeping the moral up, I had given up, sod it.

A fax to Gerry at Hawk was all that was left in the ideas box. Now, a really big thanks to Gerry who as soon as he read my fax got straight on to DVLA, wrote to them, called me and gaud knows what else.

Then today............................a tax disc arrived, along with a promise of a V5c within 2-6 wks. I'm a happy little puppy, It's not on a Q but on an age related plate. Thanks DVLA, well actually thanks to everyone in the club who have helped to get this far.

Now all that is left is to finish the car................

aaah ha ha, that's a good one!

No really, well done Shaun. So that's SVA swerved?
It just looks a bit too shiny? 'Needs dunking in the Chatsworth water (mud) splash?

3 builders, 20years/4 months build time and we won't mention what it has cost, just in case she logs on one day. Back to work, not that I can concentrate. Imagine, blast thru the alpes, up the Turini............

Congratulations Shaun :) :)

Try and get the log book before the end of this year as I think it will be easier.

By the end of this year IS a long shot, can't see how a restrictor could be added to the supercharger inlet, v6 it is then.
