I would be intested to hear and see what all the V6 users have used for there exhaust systems.
On mine I have used the standard exhaust manifolds and using two seperate systems, each one connecting into a "CherryBomb" (2" bore and 4" body) I have no balance pipe connected between each system.
Result; It does not really sound like a V6 until you reach high rpm. and a tickover I guess it sounds like two three cylinders engines side by side !!

Myself,Chris Smith and Ken Tomblin had a complete tubular system from cylinder heads to tail pipes made by a guy in Wootton Bassett Nr Swindon. the primaries and secondaries are all the same length so back pressure should be identical for all cylinders. made from carbon steel, they sound really good and look the part.....one problem...they cost about £800 2 years ago !
I have seen systems using original cast manifolds mated to the hawk 2000 system which also seems to work ok.
If you want the address of this guy Nr swindon i will find it for you.

Those exhaust systems certainly do sound good. And from what I can tell, not too loud either. Do you know the Db reading from these, since some of the [home-built] alternatives are too loud for use on many UK circuits? Some of those also rust quite quickly.

The price quoted does compare well with the Hawk V6 system, which is made of stainless steel with a very similar layout to that of the original cars, but with a larger bore. These do mate up with the standard cast manifolds of the 12v Alfa engine. The silencer box has four units within it, which keeps noise levels down below the 100Db mark (mine is now seven years old and noise levels haven't gone up much over that time, still below 100Db). Being stainless, it should last well and if you have a road car it does look the part. Only drawback to this unit (besides price) is that it is pretty heavy - not really an issue on a road car though.

David May made one from an Iveco van silencer. IIRC

Hi Richard, I've got a spare 12v V6 system that is for sale if you want it.
It has mild steel headers and downpipes into a stainless silencer with a single tailpipe.
It was fitted to my Corse i, but I am sure the mountings for the box can be modified to suite a hawk.
Overall, it is in very good condition
I only want £250 ono for it.

Cheers
Tim
