View Full Version : Footwells

I notice from the photos on Tryphon's site, that an original car has footwells that are lower than the rest of the floor.
If you were to fabricate something similar to that on a Hawk/Transformer, which has a flat (and therefore higher) floor, that extra room would allow for a longer (brake) pedal. If you needed one, for more leverage/pedal effort?
'Just a thought?

Hi all, another way to inprove the pedal ratio is to shorten the master cylinder pivot in relation to the centre pivot, I have made a bias pedal box with hydraulic clutch to fit inside the car as per origional with remote dash pots, I have achieved a 7:1 pedal ratio which is quite high by the above method & mounting the pedal box quite high in the car, I have tried to post pictures but can not seem to reduce them , maybe I could email them to someone who is more computerised than me? Regards Mark.

Hi Mark. Congrats on completing the pedal box.
It was far from ready when i saw it at Christmas.
How many hours was that in total?
Cheers

Hi Tim I dont really know how many hours, probably to many but at least it fits the very tight space, one thing I didnt say was the bigger pedal ratio you have the more pedal travel you get ,maybe somone could reduce the pictures for me and post them on this site ,if I emailed the pictures to them full size, then you would be able to see it finished,. Regards Mark.
